“The Driver”

As a photographer, I love exploring new locations and finding the perfect spot to capture a beautiful image. But I recently came across a photographer who takes a very different approach. This photographer, who I'll call "The Driver," prefers to scout locations from the comfort of his car and never actually gets out to explore on foot.

At first, I was a bit puzzled by The Driver's approach. How could he truly capture the essence of a location if he never actually experienced it up close? But as I watched him work, I began to understand the appeal of his method.

For The Driver, the journey is just as important as the destination. He takes pride in meticulously planning out his route and making sure that he has the perfect vantage point from which to capture each shot. And because he doesn't waste time getting out and walking around, he's able to cover more ground and capture a wider variety of images.

Of course, there are some downsides to The Driver's approach. He may miss out on some hidden gems that are only accessible on foot, and he may not have as deep of a connection to the places he photographs. But for him, the trade-off is worth it.

Watching The Driver work has given me a new appreciation for the diversity of approaches that photographers can take. Whether you're a walker or a driver, a planner or a spontaneous shooter, the most important thing is to find the method that works best for you and allows you to capture the images that inspire you. After all, there's no one right way to make great art.

I’m “The Driver” by the way.
