I wish I took my own advice sometimes.
Many of us love the idea of going out and taking photos, but sometimes it can be hard to actually motivate ourselves to do it. We might make excuses like "it's too cold," "I'm too tired," or "I don't have the right gear." But in reality, these are just excuses that keep us from pursuing our passion.
If you find yourself struggling to get out and take photos, it might be helpful to remember why you started in the first place. What is it about photography that inspires you? What kind of images do you want to create?
One way to overcome the excuses is to set a specific goal or challenge for yourself. Maybe you want to capture a certain type of landscape or wildlife, or you want to experiment with a new technique. Having a specific objective can give you the motivation you need to get out there and start shooting.
It's also important to remember that you don't need the latest and greatest gear to take great photos. Use what you have and focus on honing your skills and creativity. And if the weather isn't ideal, consider how you can use it to your advantage. Rainy days can create moody and atmospheric shots, for example.
In the end, it's up to you to decide if you want to let your excuses hold you back or if you want to push past them and pursue your passion. Don't let fear or excuses get in the way of capturing the beauty of the world around you.
Writing this gave me an excuse to not go out… again.
